As the new year starts, the class of 2026 is going to start figuring out graduation parties, college, and the things that get them ready for after high school. Oak Hills High School has so many amazing seniors. They have been changing things from previous years to make sure that they have a long lasting impact. The three seniors chosen to be interviewed all show different characteristics and have many unique experiences with being class president, homecoming king, and spending a semester at Cincinnati State.
Sean Boeh
The class of 2026 president Sean Boeh expressed how much Oak Hills High School has changed him. He said in an
interview that when he first got to OHHS he was a bit of a slacker but he has learned to be more active and stay on top of his grades.
Boeh explains that if you have a good connection with teachers and staff, they will always be there for help. Boeh stated how his favorite teacher at OHHS is Mrs. Steel, “She’s super kind. She’s always there when people ever need her. She is a good listener and good at giving advice.”
Boeh is a part of choir, boys wrestling, class office, and Tri-M (National Honor Music Society). Boeh recommends being a part of the class office because of the opportunities and everything that comes with it.
A piece of advice that Boeh would like to give to underclassmen is to keep your head up. He says if students lay their head down, they get tired and lazy, but with your head up, you want to continue on with your day and get through it with a positive attitude. “Don’t lay down, don’t try to skip class, none of that.”
Adrian Davis
Senior homecoming king, Adrian Davis, who is a part of Boys Wrestling, Varsity Singers, and Oak Hills Football,
believes that people at Oak Hills High School notice him as an approachable guy. “I think people notice me as the nice guy and that they can come to me for things, and I feel that’s really comforting to know.”
Davis explains how he likes being the person people can come to, but Davis also has a teacher he can go to: “Mrs. Maddox, she’s a Spanish teacher. She’s taught my entire family and she’s still like 20 years old, by the way.” He also stated Mrs. Thompson: “She’s my choir teacher. I’ve just had her for a really long time, and she’s sweet” Davis expressed how these teachers have made a huge impact on his experience during the past four years.
Davis was asked for his advice for underclassmen, “Nobody is gonna remember a bad day or a bad week. If you have a bad day, don’t let it affect the rest of your year or even your week or month, just keep going because you’re gonna forget about it.” Davis ends with not getting caught up in the little things and move forward in life.
O’livia Goldsberry
Senior, O’livia Goldsberry, has shared her experiences at Oak Hills High School and she shared that OHHS has helped
her become who she is, “It helped me to be able to be true to myself and without forcing myself to fit in with others and obviously Younglife has shaped me through Oak Hills” Goldsberry expressed that without Oak Hills, she would not have found Younglife.
Goldsberry was asked about her experience at Cincinnati State and if she would recommend people going there for studies during high school as she did, “I did like the experience because it gave me a broad range of people and meeting people of different ages and different backgrounds, but it did get lonely” she continued by saying, “The thing that I did like about Cincinnati State was that it helped me branch out and challenged me because it was college level classes in a college setting. I would recommend it, but it depends on the person and if you are introverted or extroverted.”
Goldsberry’s advice for underclassmen is to try not to fit in, ”You will eventually find your people, and don’t try to force yourself to fit other people’s molds. It will be hard to fake who you are throughout high school because once you’re out, you will have to spend time trying to find yourself.”
There are only a couple months left in the school year, it’s very important to remember what these three seniors shared about their experiences. Don’t worry about what other people have to say about you or what people think about you, at the end of the day, it’s important to remember all you have is yourself and that is all that matters. Don’t take high school for granted, hangout with people, keep your head up, go to that Younglife event, and join that club.
