On February 20th, Moroney released her 3rd studio album, Cloud 9. Many fans (including myself) were very excited to hear the album and were thrilled when it was finally released. She is a newer music artist and her first album “Lucky” came out in 2023 which lead to her music becoming so popular. Megan Moroney is a rising country music star, with 9.3 Million monthly listeners on Spotify. Moroney grew up in Douglasville, Georgia, which is where she gets the southern twang that makes her music so popular.

Cloud 9, Moroney’s new album, in my opinion, was a great album. The album reminded me of a perfect day on the beach, or driving during the summer with the windows down. This album is just what I needed during the cold winter months to keep me excited for summer to come. My favorite song off of the album is “Stupid” because I think even if you can’t relate, it’s a song that makes you want to scream the lyrics like you can. I don’t typically enjoy country music, but Moroney has a way with lyrics that match her voice which makes it enjoyable to listen to, despite her genre being country. According to Apple Music, Moroney claimed to live through everything that was mentioned in the lyrics of these songs. None of her new songs were just made just because, which helps fans know that she is always keeping it real within her songwriting and they are never alone in an experience that they might go through.

I personally really liked this album and I think it was so much fun to listen to. My rating of this album would definitely be an 8.5/10 because I will be listening to the album a lot more during the summer, and I’m so glad Moroney decided to release it, but since it reminds me so much of summer, it won’t be listened to as much while it’s cold, even though I still find it enjoyable. If you haven’t already listened to the album, and are looking to get into new music, stream Moroney’s new album “Cloud 9”!
