Starbucks is known for coming out with an iconic Christmas menu, so I decided to try some of the returning favorites of the menu. The menu dropped on November sixth. There were three different drinks I tried off the Christmas menu, which included the Peppermint Mocha, the Gingerbread Chai, and the Sugar Cookie Latte. All of these drinks I got iced, and I got them from the Starbucks on Glenway. Many people at school have openly expressed their excitement about the returning drinks, so I had to give them a try myself and see what the talk was about.

For the first drink, I tried the iced Peppermint Mocha. The drink at first sip tasted like mint, a fresh taste, but then the mocha hit. The sensation of both flavors hitting was like magic. The mocha came topped with whipped cream and chocolate flakes. The crunch of the flakes in my mouth was joyful. This drink was really enjoyable, and I would for sure get it again. I would rate the drink a solid eight out of ten.

The primary reason it does not get a ten from me is that the aftertaste was a bit chalky; however, I enjoyed it for the most part. The next drink I tried was my second favorite, which was the Iced Gingerbread Chai. It is topped with sweet foam and cinnamon. At the first sip, I got mostly the sweet foam; it was foamy and bubbly, which was not my favorite because it tasted much like cinnamon, which I am not the biggest fan of. Then at the second sip, I got the chai mixed with the sweet foam, and that’s when the real magic hit. It tasted like freshly baked warm cinnamon gingerbread cookies in my mouth. From then on, the rest of the drink was wonderful. I would overall rate this drink a nine out of ten and would get it again.

Lastly, I tried the Iced Sugar Cookie Latte, which was my favorite by far. The first sip was perfect. I got all the flavors of a sugar cookie flooding into my mouth at once. I immediately thought of those sugar cookies with the images on them from Pillsbury that are holiday-themed, which everyone loves as a kid. This drink is the perfect holiday drink to get you in the Christmas spirit. When I tried it, though, I added sweet foam to it, which made it better than when I tried it without, so I recommend adding sweet foam. It also comes topped with red and green sprinkles that crunched in your mouth as you took sips of the drink, which reminds me more of Christmas and makes me happy. Overall, I would recommend this drink to anyone and would rate it a ten out of ten. I will be getting this drink all winter long.
Overall, we have a clear winner of which drink I feel is the best, the Iced Sugar Cookie Latte. While the others were still good and put me in the Christmas mood, no drink could top this one. However, if you like more of a chocolate drink, I would go for the Mocha, but if you like more of a cinnamon drink, I would definitely go for the chai. All of these drinks are wonderful and fit the Christmas spirit.
