Hope Wallace, Writer
In a world where cruelty to others seems far too common, Hope shines through. Hope Marie Wallace is starting her year in the Tartan as a junior and has been involved in volleyball from a young age. Wallace recounts her favorite school memory in which she got her volleyball team the game-winning strike, and was later congratulated on the announcements. Driven by ambition, she hopes to get accepted into NHS and join the student council before she graduates. When it comes to the future, she hopes to be living life to the fullest in ten years, with a stable income and a relationship. She also knows the importance of balance and unwinds by listening to music and reading.
It’s clear that Wallace leads her life with kindness, and she attributes her character to the influence her parents had on her. She was taught to carry herself high and be strong. She stands up for others, believing everyone should be treated with respect, which she finds pride in. Overall, it’s clear that Hope Wallace sees herself as a happy, good-natured person, and she’s proud of that. Her hopes for this class are to gain the skills necessary to help her in her dream job as a journalist. When asked what her philosophy in life is, Wallace responded with a quote from Tuesdays with Morrie, “You never learn how to live until you die.”
