Homecoming can be stressful for our girls when deciding where to get ready. However, this time could also be extremely exciting and fun to get dressed up and feel like your best self.
Nowadays, you can find the best dresses at local boutiques & bridal shops. For example, Kotsovos, located in Montgomery, has plenty of beautiful, high-quality dresses. However, these dresses tend to have a higher range in price, at about $200 to $400. If you seek a cheaper, more accessible option, Kenwood Mall has Dillards, Macy’s, and Windsor! These stores have trendy dresses fit for comfort and beauty. Not only this, but they have all the styles you could be looking for. Whether you want sparkle, silk, or floral, they have it! These dresses typically range from $50 to $100. Ordering dresses can be more efficient, but the experience of trying on dresses with your friends and family in a local shop is unbeatable.
As far as hair goes, the west side of Cincinnati has great salons full of experienced hairdressers who can color, cut, or style your hair to your desire. Although it can be expensive, some girls say it is worth it. For example, Bri Brown, Junior at Oak Hills High School, explains she goes to Kendyll to get her hair done at Salon Lofts in Dent Crossings. Bri explains, “Kendyll accommodates to my liking and critiques when it comes to my hair, which I take seriously since it’s part of my appearance, ultimately affecting my self-confidence.” Bri recommends Salon Lofts because of its relaxing atmosphere and welcoming setting. Another option for getting your hair done would be Revive Salon, Spa, & Boutique. Revive appears to have a beautiful salon setting with trusted employees who boost your confidence and are constantly improving their skill set. Christie Brannon, a loyal client of a stylist at Revive, states, “They have never let me down. All the girls there treat you with such kindness and respect.” Revive is located off Harrison Avenue and Brannon assures that you’ll have a relaxing time in the chair.
When it comes to getting your nails done, many people have mixed feelings about US Nails due to the experience, price, and quality. I recommend going to Rio Nails and Spa based on their 5-star Google review. You could also find a private, at-home nail technician you can comfortably catch up with while receiving your service. Another affordable option would be doing your nails at home. Sally’s Beauty Supply and Amazon have good quality, user-friendly materials for DIY nails. This commitment allows you to learn something new and even find joy in the process!
Homecoming can be a stressful time because of everything that needs to be sorted and ready but try not to let it get to you. Always remember to stay prepared when getting ready for Homecoming so life doesn’t interfere with glamor!
