As spring break approaches, there are a vast number of things to do. Spring is fun because it is like a slow introduction to summer, and spring break is just a hint of what summer will be like. Most students, like me, are counting down the days until spring break. So I will give you some ideas of fun activities to do over the break.
Mini Golf
The first thing I am going to suggest is mini golf. It is a fun-filled activity that you and your friends can do on a nice day. It can be as fun as you want or if you choose, you can make it a competitive game. There is a mini golf place right here on the Westside, General Custer’s. Sunday-Friday, it is open from 3 PM to 9 PM, and on Saturdays, it is open from 12 PM to 9 PM. The hours are good if you would like to go with your family after work. This is also a cheaper activity, being only $8 for 12 and up, $7 for ages 5 to 11, and $3 for ages 4 and down. Also at General Custer’s is soft serve ice cream, leading me to my next suggestion.
Ice Cream
If there is a hot day and you want a little sweet treat, soft serve may be the choice for you. While General Custer’s is just one of many places near the Westside, you can get soft serve anywhere you choose and have a good experience. Some popular places are Sweets n’ Eats in Delhi, Zip Dip in Bridgetown, and lastly Cone Zone in Cheviot. If you would like to travel a bit farther to get some elite soft serve, Flubs, located in Hamilton and Fairfield, could also be a good option.
Pickleball
Pickleball is another fun activity you can do with either family or friends. With pickleball courts on both sides of town, some in Delhi Park and some in Kuliga Park, it is a fun thing to do with friends on a nice warm spring day. While not everyone may know how to play, it is easy to pick up with little practice. This game can be as serious as you want to make it, and competitive, or it can just be a simple, fun game on a warm day.
Trampoline Park
A different thing you could do is go to Nova, a new trampoline park that opened just last November near us. This is something you could do with family or friends and is a fun thing to do if the weather is not as nice one day. Pricing is reasonable for toddlers to jump for an hour it is $13.00 and general pricing is $19.00 to jump for an hour. The new location just over on Glenway Crossing makes it a convenient but fun stop on the break.
Hot Pilates
Lastly, you could go to a Hot Pilates class which is a challenge but is a fun one. Just over in Dent, a new pilates place opened called Body Alive. While hot pilates is not easy, the instructors there are kind and make it a fun experience. Between the fun colored LED lights and the pop music they play, the experience is worth the price. You can try it out with your first class starting at just $5.00.
Overall, there are many things to do on the Westside of Cincinnati, and you can’t go wrong with any of them. These are just some unique ideas I thought would be fun to do with family and friends to make your break a memorable one.
