Red Bull is known for releasing their energy drinks in new fruity flavors almost every season. This tradition is beloved by tired high school students and busy college kids alike, who popularly rely on caffeine to get through their school days. Looking around in my morning classes, I see most of the desks housing either a Red Bull, Celsius, or an energy drink from the trending brand Alani. I prefer the 80 mg of caffeine that I get from an 8.4 fl. oz. can of Red Bull, according to their official website, as opposed to the 100 mg of caffeine that’s packed into the same amount of fluid ounces in an Alani Nu, as seen on the can. For Red Bull lovers and caffeine addicts who’d like to try something new, I would recommend checking out Red Bull’s seasonal flavors.
Spring 2025 has been welcomed with the new “Spring Edition” Red Bull, featuring the flavor “Grapefruit and Blossom.” I’ve seen the marketing for this drink on social media apps like TikTok and Instagram, so I was more than happy to try it out when I first found it at Deubber’s Carryout on Cleves Warsaw Pike. Upon sipping the Spring Edition, I could only taste the grapefruit flavor, and the blossom hint was more of an afterthought. As much as I loved the strong punch of citrus, I would’ve appreciated more blossom to balance the acidity. The flavor, although unbalanced, was still enjoyable and perfectly refreshing for spring. Later that night, I stopped at a UDF and grabbed three more.
The Spring Edition has tough competition compared to some past seasonal Red Bull flavors. The vanilla notes in the 2025 Winter Red Bull were a game changer, and the Pink Edition, which came soon after the Winter Edition, has a pleasantly sour kick. Among other seasonal editions, I would rate the Spring Edition an 8/10 and recommend trying this flavor if you find yourself in a gas station energy drink aisle, you may just buy three more.
